Matthew is a New Zealand Registered Electrician and the founder of Phoenix Solar Solutions.

Matthew began his trade career at the age of 15 as an electrical apprentice in the United Kingdom and has built more than 30 years of hands-on experience across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction and renewable energy systems.

After qualifying as an electrician, Matthew worked throughout London before co-founding his own business at the age of 25. Over the years he has completed projects for homeowners, businesses and high-profile clients, developing a reputation for quality workmanship, attention to detail and practical problem solving.

Between 2012 and 2015, Matthew worked on major supermarket developments throughout the United Kingdom, delivering renewable energy and building services projects including commercial hot water systems, heating systems and rooftop solar installations. This experience provided early exposure to large-scale renewable energy technologies and energy-efficient building systems.

Committed to ongoing professional development, Matthew later qualified as a plumber and expanded his expertise into HVAC engineering, heating systems and solar energy. He holds electrical qualifications in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand and is certified for Parallel Generation work required for grid-connected solar installations.

Today, Matthew combines his background in electrical, HVAC, plumbing and renewable energy systems to provide homeowners with practical solar solutions designed for long-term performance and reliability.

Servicing Christchurch, Selwyn and North Canterbury, Matthew personally oversees the design, installation and commissioning of every Phoenix Solar Solutions project.

His goal is simple: high-quality solar systems backed by genuine electrical expertise, clear communication and long-term local support.
